The utility industry in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) is ready for a positive 2010, after the recession experienced during 2009. Economic trends are looking up beginning with 2010 GDP forecasts improving as countries shifted out of the recession. The European Union has allocated significant funds to the energy sector as part of its Economic recovery plan, and while investments in renewable energy was down in 2009, installation capacity continued to grow.
